: Welcome Letter :
Why, hello there, and welcome! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to check out what The Comical Colon’s all about!
Chances are, you or your loved one has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease.
After maybe thinking what the heck is that!? you’re now on your journey to getting symptoms under control and entering—and staying in—remission.
But where do you turn? What do you do to maintain your symptoms and find remission? How do you explain this diagnosis to your family or significant other? Where can you find others in a similar situation as yourself?
Well let me tell ya, all these same questions flew through my mind when I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in November of 2014. My brain was bubbling with questions and I was frantically googling every question and every fear I had. It was incredibly tiring and overwhelming.
I understand the uncertainty and anxiety you’re feeling.
Over the course of these past three and a half years trying to keep my symptoms under control, I’ve gone through numerous medical procedures, countless medication changes, many trials, and even more triumphs. I’ve done it all—from scooping my own poop out of the toilet for stool testing, to swallowing a capsule with a camera in it to capture the characteristics of my digestive tract!
With stories like these as my inspiration, I post a new chapter of my ulcerative colitis journey every week. But they’re not just stories with intent for entertainment—they’re a resource. Each chapter is infused with humor, honesty, and practical and actionable tips, links, and other resources to help you along your own unique IBD journey.
That’s because my mission through The Comical Colon is to share my experiences to connect with others on their IBD journeys; to provide resources, tips, and links to patients and families who don’t know where to turn; and to offer encouragement, community, and sensible chuckles.
Though it took me a while to accept my chronic illness, I have chosen that my diagnosis won’t be in vain. I’ve decided to find the humor in it all, and I want to share these experiences with you to support you along your journey.
What I’m trying to say is you—the readers and community of The Comical Colon—make my diagnosis worth it.
You have given it purpose.
So I’d like to say thank you by providing you a FREE Resource Bundle when you sign up for The Comical Colon Community Newsletter.
